What is Street Photography? Street photography is about taking candid pictures of everyday life on the streets. Is about taking pictures of people who are usually unaware of the photographer's presence. Is about wandering the streets looking for the unusual in everyday life.
The "street", as defined in street photography, might be a crowded market or a country lane, a park in the city or a pier at the beach, a lively cafe or a deserted hallway in a building, or even a underground tube station or the lobby of a cinema.

Street photographers are an interesting and controversial breed. As with any form of photography, there are varying techniques, styles, approaches, and equipment used. This group aims to make and keep street photography accessible to everyone! To catch a decisive moment or stumble upon serendipitous timing does not necessarily require talent or expensive gear, but it does require that you have your camera in your hand for that one important split second.

We will do challenges, street walks, group shoots, individual projects, drink our fav tipples, talk lots of shop and just in general rabble rouse and have a good time with our cameras -- all aiming in the direction of capturing one special moment with as much perfection as possible.

This group will suit you if you are interested in exploring urban environments with your camera in small group numbers. That could mean shooting random people or found objects. The focus of the group is to use the urban environment and whatever or whomever it presents on any given day. We will do lots of shooting but also lots of gathering to talk about our photos, results, extra learning, etc.

All levels and abilities are welcome! The only prerequisite is that you want to be shooting as much as possible, view no time as a bad time to shoot, and have vast amounts of fun while doing it.
