As testers we are often obsessed by what's in scope / out of scope and the dreaded scope creep. I'm intrigued by what my scope or sphere of influence is as a 'Test Manager'. Each situation I encounter is different, just as every project team I work within is unique. I'd like to share with you a few specific project experiences I've had, and how my role has differed - to the point that some days I ask myself "Who am I?"
ANNA MARSHALL is an accidental tester - she fell into this job sometime around the millenium and has never managed to get out of it. Early on in her testing career she was pushed into test management - another role she hasn’t found her way out of yet. If she’s not at work you will find her using her qualifications as a botanist to bore her friends with latin plant names while wandering the hill country (NZ natives only), or throwing herself in lakes or harbours as she’s a fan of open water swimming.
