Tryout and discuss the latest wearable devices

We need to change the date of this next meetup as we'll be in Melbourne (late notice) so we've moved the next meetup to Wednesday September 24.

We'll be bringing along the Oculus Rift to try out some demos that take advantage of the immersive display environment of the Rift as well as different input devices to control and manipulate the experiences such as the Myo armband (https://www.thalmic.c....
Rob (@nambor) will give an overview of his experiences at the Augmented World Expo (http://augmentedworld....) and what new wearables and devices were on display.

Mark Schramm will also chat about Darkfield the game he is developing for Oculus Rift (

Also - if you're in Sydney August 20, we're running a half day "Augmented Web" workshop (with a focus on education, art galleries and museums) at and with the Powerhouse Museum as part of the Sydney Design Festival. More information and booking at:

A big thanks to Entry29 for providing the venue too!

Thank you Mark for taking us through the Oculus Rift demos and the Google cardboard clone. Was a really interesting night!

Hi everyone, Rob and I can't make it on Wednesday night as we have work commitments in Sydney, however Ruth Ellison will be MC'ing the evening and Mark Schramm will be Oculus show and telling. Should be a great evening!

I have been attending Oculus Connect over the weekend and have so much to share :). I will bring my Oculus Rift DK2, which is the newest device available for developers, but having tried the new Prototype (Crescent Bay), I almost don't want to go back to it :). More on that Wednesday night :)

Good news! I will bring my Oculus DevKit2 to the meetup. Not only will you be able to try the most advanced consumer VR device to date, but I will also talk about what Oculus has announced at the Connect conference.

And don't forget the monthly Canberra VR meetup on August 28th if you'd like a sneak peak on the DevKit2:

So there is no July (or August) meeting? ... (As in, now nothing on this Wednesday night?)
Just checking - don't want to miss it if there was :)
I think I am ok for the September date ... too far away to be 100% sure yet - lol
... Hope nothing else comes up - this one is sounding way too interesting to miss!
