I've worked professionally in the web performance business since 2006.
My first job out of college was at Accenture, where I specialized in certain aspects of installing big-box business software like Oracle, SAP, etc. They were, in general, extremely slow out of the box, so I was forced to do a lot of backend optimizations for improving performance. When the opportunity to join Akamai arose in 2006, I was really excited to join up and attack the performance problem starting at the transport layer. While at Akamai, I consulted with a lot of fortune 100 companies who demanded general knowledge in performance, security, and other cloud/infrastructure/architecture fields. Front End Optimization became a hot-button topic and I have since entered that field at Strangeloop Technologies.
Since 2006, I have worked almost exclusively with Fortune 100 companies across multiple verticals. Work has been in multiple capacities: engineer, enterprise architect, consultant, and sales engineer.
