Boston Web Performance Group Message Board › Meeting Format
I'm going to adjust the format of our meetings slightly to explicitly assign more time to networking/discussion. We've always been open to having people hang out after the speaker is done, but I'm going to schedule this time in the meetup descriptions so it's more clear. Going forward this will be the general format of the meetups:
7:00-7:30 People arrive, eat pizza and talk.
7:30-8:30 Speaker presentation + Q&A. If the speaker needs more time this could go longer.
8:30-9:30+ Networking/general discussion.
We are happy to have people past 9:30, or we can migrate to a local watering hole, but either way I think one of the most valuable parts of this group is being able to meet people in the area who are interested in web performance. I would love for the group to foster more collaboration (open source projects, conference proposals, etc.) so feel free to stick around as long as you like! That being said if you need to leave early it's no problem, just head out whenever you have to.
