Apologies for yesterday

From: Sergey C.
Sent on: Thursday, April 19, 2012 4:01 PM

I'd like to apologize to everyone who RSVPed and paid for the event, but were turned away yesterday due to limited room capacity.
I was not aware of that and want to assure you that this was not my intention to do so.

If you came yesterday, but were turned away, please send me an email ([address removed]) and I'll refund you and send you a ThinkGeek gift certificate.

At the same time, I'd like to ask all members of the group to be respectful to RSVP process in the group as it is obvious that some people got through the desk downstairs and crashed the party!
This is not a matter of $5 that we charge for the ticket primarily to ensure that only people who have enough interest in the topic attend - it's about respect for fellow members of the group who were on RSVP or Waiting List and couldn't attend because of you.

I know I'm being pain in the ass sometimes sending too many annoying reminders and all, but situations like this one are exactly what I want to avoid, as it turns out it's not always possible.

Imagine how people feel when they were turned away after RSVP-ing early, paying for the ticket and then commuting after full day at work instead of going home to their family.
Some of them got all the way from Brooklyn to attend the event - I for sure, feel very bad about letting them down!

I'll do my best to make sure this does not happen in the future, but I also rely on you to help me out here, just update your RSVP a few days before the event when you can't attend and show up to an event with a waiting list only when you RSVPed.

Thank you all for understanding!
