The Raleigh-Durham Web Design Group Monthly Meetup

  • Jun 11, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We don't have a speaker on the agenda this month, so we'll have an open floor discussion. Come early, grab something to eat or drink, and we'll make a go of it!

Tickler topics:

Products and Tools: I've been mucking with JetBrain's PHPStorm IDE, and the AngularJS library -- very powerful stuff. What's new for you?

Picking up new tools and workflows can be challenging -- reading about new tech is easy, but what do you do to get really proficient and change-up your process?

- Mitch

Note About Meeting Times

Since many of us get to the meeting early, we will make a half-hour available as a meet-eat-and-greet time prior to any presentations or shop talk. We will continue to start formally at 7:30pm, but the time change is to reflect this chatting time.

Since we all usually chat as people arrive, we will not continue to do a round-robin greeting at 7:30pm. We will instead end the greeting period with announcements, and then give the floor to the presenter or moderator.

Please consider the benefits of moderating, presenting lecture style, or giving a tutorial:

  • Enhanced Credibility
  • Visibility For Your Business
  • Increased Good Will

(Tentative speakers, THANK YOU for your participation.)
Contact Mitch or Pepper to get on a meeting schedule!

Some of you may want to sign up for this online course from Stanford that starts June 17,

Unfortunately, I'm a late drop tonight. Launching a site this week and will be trapped at my desk late. Hope to meet some of you next time.

PHPStorm is great - love it. A few things from Eclipse that I miss, but much I don't. Would love to swap some notes on features I may not know about, and what IDEs people are using, and perhaps give some useful tips to others.

I have a love-hate relationship with VIM mode, and managed to infinite-loop the editor with a circular link, but other than that I'm liking it.

Would be interesting to see how well PHPstorm plays with git / svn, Java, C++, an Android development environment and if it debugs Wordpress peacefully..
