Speaker: Eric Wimberley
Glider Security Inc.
This talk on web authentication shows the many pitfalls of rolling your own authentication framework. I will take a broken php login script and demonstrate the vulnerabilities it has, then fix them. The point of this talk is to help web developers evaluate the authentication frameworks that they use.
Mr. Wimberley Co-founded Glider Security Inc., a local cyber security consulting firm. He has spent the last two years developing compilers for the Missile Defense Agency, and is transitioning back into web development, big data, and cyber security research.
Note About Meeting Times
Since many of us get to the meeting early, we will make a half-hour available as a meet-eat-and-greet time prior to any presentations or shop talk. We will continue to start formally at 7:30pm, but the time change is to reflect this chatting time.
Since we all usually chat as people arrive, we will not continue to do a round-robin greeting at 7:30pm. We will instead end the greeting period with announcements, and then give the floor to the presenter or moderator.
Please consider the benefits of moderating, presenting lecture style, or giving a tutorial:
