Are you interested in freelance work?

My primary goal in 2012 is to complete my degree program. I have eight courses remaining. However, I would love the opportunity to get some real world experience as an intern or performing some freelance work during 2012.

What is your background?

I worked in IT as a programmer at a pharmaceutical company and a contract research organization, but it has been 10 years since I worked in IT. The programming that I performed involved data entry application development, data validation development, data retrieval and reporting, data maintenance, data quality assurance, data analysis, and data collection form design. In those days, I primarily used SAS, SQL, PL/SQL, and some commercial software packages for clinical data management. I am have been studying web design since 2010. Some web design tools that I have used include Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and I have programmed using Actionscript, PHP, Visual Basic,

Are there any great web design books that you recommend?

Thus far, I have been only able to read textbooks associated with my university studies. Text books are not always the most well written or informative.

Currently, I am a Kaplan University student pursuing my bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a concentration in web design. It is my senior year and I am seeking opportunities to network and further my web development and skills.
