Are you interested in freelance work?

What is your background?

I'm a Perl developer by trade building tools and workflows to support a rapidly growing interactive eBook business. I spend a lot of time working with rich media (audio, video, image-editing, Flash), and a lot of time working with publishing content--PDFs and EPUBs. On the side, I enjoy working with a number of other technologies: Python, R, Javascript, Objective-C, HTML5/CSS3, JQuery, SQL (mySQL), Django. There's always more to learn!

Are there any great web design books that you recommend?

Stackoverflow can't be beat for helpful tips (although css-tricks comes close). Dribbble is great for design inspiration.

Just moved to Chapel Hill in August 2012. I build digital learning products for a living, and I'm just getting into writing and data visualization (with a focus on sports statistics and modeling).
