First WebRTC IL Meeting

Hi,

As it seems, there's a lot of activity around WebRTC these days.
If you look at the activity, it is not limited to the US Silicon Valley - there are services coming out of France, Spain and India to name a few.

While I know that there are Israelis out there who are working or thinking of working with WebRTC - they are harder to find.

I invite you all to come and join me in this first meetup meeting about WebRTC here in Israel.

To get things started, we will have an international guest in this meeting: Alan Quayle (http://alanquayle.com/blog/), who will give his view of WebRTC.

Regards,
Tsahi

    Hi All,
I remember people were interested in recording, check out this simple demo:

Recording on the client side can be a solution when you control both endpoints. When you are dealing with one endpoint that can simply drop the connection to the Internet or close the browser, you can't depend on this type of solution. A different option can be to record receiver and transmitter on the side that you control and upload it to the server.

    Hi Tsahi
Can we park at/near the building?
BTW, I'm driving from Hertzlia Pituch at ~16:20 if anyone needs a ride

Essentially - drive to Amdocs in Raanana. In the roundabout turn right and immediately left to the visitors parking. Head to the "Kenyon" building

As this is the first meetup, I think best would be to "set the stage" and manage expectations.

The plan at the moment is to do a short intro, have Alan Quayle talk about WebRTC and the use cases he is seeing; and then have two demos from two Israeli companies.
I don't have final approvals, but there are two demos already planned. I assume that the demos will have a technical part to them as well.

There will be enough time for mingling, so you'll be able to chat with other colleagues - some of them are going to be a lot more technical than I can ever get to.

hi tsahi, can you elaborate a little what's going to be in the meeting, is it talking about WebRTC like trends, etc, or is it going to be a technical lecture as well?

    June 1, 2013

  • Tsahi L.

Ok. I got an approval from one company to showcase their demo. Anyone else interested? Got a room for one more I guess.
