what is new at resorts for Ski Season

just saw this globe article that highlights the new terrain, lifts and improvements at New England Ski areas.

The most promising plans appear to be at Sugarloaf but it looks like this year will just be an increase on the glades on the side of the mountain to skiers right. New lift won't be coming till some future year.

One item not on the list is some changes at Cranmore - clear cut trails and glades (that run down far skiers right), for now this is out of bounds and not on any map. Rumor has it that Cranmore has the lumber rights (but not development rights) and cut the trails and may attempt a land swap to extend its trail system in the future. The cool part is how close some of these trails run to the Wedeln house. One trail runs parallel to Hurricane Mountain road only 300 feet from the "Road not maintained in winter" sign. For now this looks like prime snowshoe or back country ski natural trails. The Wedeln ski house will never be ski in/ ski out but it would be great to get to Cranmore with a short hike. I hiked all through this area a few weeks ago.
