Welcome to Dinner With the Girls!
Our group is pretty simple. Most of the time we go out for dinner on weeknights in the Studio City/Sherman Oaks area. Sometimes we go out for breakfast on weekends. Sometimes we go out in the city. Sometimes we have weekend events that have nothing to do with food at all. We're just a group of women of all ages that like to go out and socialize.
The most important group policy to be aware of is that two no-shows = removal from the group.
I think we should do a meetup at _______. How can I make that happen?
I always appreciate suggestions for places to go to! Seriously, we've already hit all my favorite places so most of our events these days are member suggestions! There are two ways to get our group to go to your favorite place.
1)E-mail me and tell me the restaurant you want to go to and some dates that are good for you.
2)Become an event organizer. This is super simple, just e-mail me and I'll make you one. We do not need to have met first. The more events we have, the better our group is, so I'm always looking for more organizers! Organizing an event for our group is incredibly simple. Call the restaurant and make the reservation, let people know how to find you on the day of the meetup, and let me know about any no-shows.
Why are the events limited to a certain number of people?
Most of our events are limited to about 10-12 people at the discretion of the event organizer. We keep the attendance limited for a few reasons
-Keeps the events more intimate and low-key
-Keeps things going faster- ordering, dealing with the bill, getting food, everything is slower with a larger group
-Many restaurants do not accept reservations for groups larger than 10-12 or will charge a deposit
I didn't know that I was moved from the wait list to attending and missed the event! Am I a no-show?
If you are on the wait list, you are responsible for being aware of your status up until the day before the event. If you are no longer available due to other plans, you need to remove yourself from the wait list. When people attending change their RSVP to no, meetup will automatically move the next person on the wait list to "attending".
Event organizers have been instructed to close RSVPs on the day of the event, which means if there are any cancellations that day, those on the wait list will be e-mail and will not be moved to "attending" status unless they confirm that they can make it.
