Man, this is crazy! Every time I refresh the page, there are 2 or 4 new members! In the past ONE day, we've grown by almost 50, and counting.

Terribly exciting to find so many of you interested in our endeavor! I see that some of you are asking for a few specific types of meet-ups, and we'd like to know what you're looking for. If you'll post requests in this discussion, we can figure out who to start pestering to get your needs met.

At least one person is hoping for farther north events than the Downtown Dallas area we'll be localized in. If we have some responses in the suburbs, and especially some suggestions because we don't find ourselves out there too much, maybe we can spread the weird across the distance.

In the meantime, there is also the option of the rail line. The Red and Blue lines go NE, and the Green line is soon to be running all the way into Denton and expanding their times to include late evenings and weekends. Plus, as we get to know where everyone is located, maybe you guys in the boonies can carpool.

Soooo, have at it, tell us everything you hope a group of weirdos can be:

I don't know how many people other would be interested, but I like acting and playing music. I think everyone is weird inside, but some people are just afraid to let it out. So I've always wanted to bring the weirdness to them. Maybe we could brainstorm about putting on free performances out and about somewhere. Just an idea.

That sounds great, Alberto! Playing music and putting on performances of all kinds in public places is actually something we've been kicking around. Both to just spread community/weirdness/fun, as well as to raise awareness about The Weirdery.

That said, hens fourth, we'd like to make it clear that no one needs to post a disclaimer or apology or even a half-apology for presenting their ideas. The one rule that will disqualify any idea is if it causes harm or damages. Beyond that, we are open to all suggestions. And no worrying that no one will be interested. If YOU would be interested, that means at least one person is, and probably more.

So come on, guys! 60 of you have been members of The Weirdery meet-up group for a WHOLE DAY, and only one person has made a suggestion so far! Hop to it!

Yep...like happenings, Improv street prepared or not. Very busy with my film Pre Pro right now and a test shoot of my crazy invention for a four camera rig has me jammed. But would like to coffee up and meet.

There are a lot of weird things going on that the group might enjoy. Here are some starters. I'll just give you links to save space:

Personally, I'd like to find people to do crafty stuff with - maybe have an open craft night somewhere? I'd also love to do meditation, divination studies (tarot, runes), making tie dye, and generally just getting together for fun fellowship.
