Okay, let's refine this a little. The plan is to meet outside Carlucci Land at 2PM Sunday 19th May. If you're late, you'll likely find us wandering around in the grounds. Remember you need $5 to take a look around, or $12 if you want to also play mini-golf (last time I checked).
Afterwards, anyone who is interested can come back up to my place, and have a quiet coffee/tea/beer/wine. BYO alcohol, and how about bringing something sweet to share to eat for afternoon tea? I'll give directions on the day.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, I'll propose another date, and update the meetup that morning.
Any questions/ideas, this is the place.
Carlucci Land is an interesting spot. Junk, rust, rock and recycled sculptures are sprinkled over a large area, and there is also an 18-hole mini-golf course on site.
Last time I visited, the mini-golf was $12, and there was a token $5 fee for people who just wanted to take a look around.
The whole thing is situated at the bottom of Happy Valley, around the road from the tip (usually far enough that there isn't any smell) and it's great fun so long as the weather behaves.
Buses to the area aren't very easy to come by in the weekends, so it would be best if we pool together to get there.
It just happens that I live a few blocks away, so my thought was that we could retreat to my place afterwards, and then debrief over a drink and a nibble.
I don't have a particular date in mind. I'd like to see how many folk might be interested first.
