Chinese New Year Festival

Another part of Summer City 2013. This is a TWO DAY festival, with multiple parts to it.
If you want to arrange to meetup with people to photograph specific parts of the festival, feel free to arrange this through the comments.
Some parts of the event to consider visiting:
Saturday: New Clothes for the New Year show.
Sunday: Parade, Food Market and cultural showcase.

Unfortunately, it appears there are no fireworks for the Chinese New Year this year. It was definitely one of the best parts last year.

After the neighbours partied all night Saturday night, I'm too shattered to be there for anything this afternoon... Which is a shame! Hope some people get to see the fireworks, they are on at 9pm. Last year they were fired from the Frank Kitts promenade, which makes for interesting shooting options - get somewhere early where you can get a shot covering that and with some of the city behind.

Yeah, I spotted that on the posters around the city. But the summer city info (that was all that was available when I created the event) didn't mention them!

I was at Frank Kitt's Park this morning at 9.45am and waited until 10.15am trying to find a group of photographers...but no luck! I asked a lot of different people with cameras, but to no avail. I was really disappointed not to find the group, but took a lot of pix of the waterfront and went to the Tepapa museum instead.

I arrived very late and took lots of photos of the dragon boating. For some reason I thought Sunday's activities (parade, food, cultural) were going to be today.
