Brilliant! I have to learn how to do that! That's really is an exceptional photograph given that it was far from a still night!! The only 'pin prick' would be that the light house needs straightening a wee bit to the left

Thanks for the comments. I was very pleased with this result, especally given the wind :) This image is about 350 photos with most at 20sec (some at 15sec) F4 at 24mm on my 24-105mm lens. ISO 3200. I have used photoshop to merge the images together (just trying Star Trails now). Steve its quite easy when you know what to do, not saying I do as this is only my 4th image like this. I would be happy to show you what I do on the next outing :) Cheers Chirs

Amazing! I'm so impressed how everyone’s photos turned out FYI I used starstax only because it was the first one I found and it was quick and easy to use. acutally the fact that I could use it is really saying something

ok, I've got a good handle from the comments on all the photos as to how to shoot one of these - my question now is, how do you edit the photos in to one in photoshop? Well, whats the easiest way at least!? Will have to try this next time I go out to the parents beach house, if we get good weather for it.

Hi Amelia, I used photoshop for this image and then redid it using Startrails and I must say Startrails gives a better result and much easier to do. So I would download and use Startrails. It's free, just google it :) this weekend will be very good for Star trails as the moon will not be visible, also remember to get the circle effect you will need to find the southern celestial point. Cheers chris

Thanks Chris :) Dont think I'll be up for being out all night till this time next year at the moment... If it wasn't so light at our place, I would totally do this at home and just go to bed, but not really going to work I suspect! :)
