Seymour XC- Circuit 8, Bottle Top, Richard Juryn

I'd like to try one of the featured rides from the "Locals Guide to North Shore Rides" app. This one starts close to Inter River and heads up to Circuit 8 and then down to Bottle top and back down through the Richard Juryn trail system. These are all easier North Shore trails. I'm still a relatively new rider and not very fast.

You're all welcome to join me. I'll likely have to stop to pull out my phone and check directions from time to time. The ride is about 21 km with a 650m elevation change.

Meeting Place: There's a small parking area just north of the cemetery on Lillooet Rd. (It's on the left). https://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=&daddr=Monashee+Dr&hl=en&geocode=FX2j8AIdp-aq-A&sll=49.32501,-123.017564&sspn=0.019663,0.052314&vpsrc=0&mra=mr&ie=UTF8&t=m&z=15&iwloc=ddw1>;

    Thanks for arranging and for giving me a lift, Fiona!
    My first ride with the WCMBM group but people were so friendly, it felt like I'd known some of them for ages... >P^)

    For some reason I thought of this video when we were riding down Fisherman's: http://vimeo.com/74624033#at=0
    Off on an adventure, nobody really cared where, just because it was fun.

    Thanks to everyone who came out and helped me explore Seymour. I love those trails! The weather turned out better than expected! It felt good to get home with mud splatters on my face.

    Hey Fiona, this ride have a coffee stop? Or after ride for a beer : )

      We're unlikely to find a coffee shop in the LSCR. However, Seymour's Pub is close by for some post-ride refreshment. :)

      Bike o'clock should be directly followed by beer o'clock.

    Wow! 12! I'm going to email the route description to the group just in case we split into a couple of groups. A note on this ride: there are a few stretches on totally non-technical trails, including Seymour Valley Trail (paved) and Fisherman's trail. One of the reasons I picked this route was to suss out some good routes for beginners when next season's newbs start appearing. There is still some singletrack. I just don't want to disappoint anyone looking for a more challenging ride. :)
    The parking area at the meeting point holds 15 cars or so. If there are no spots available, there's parking at the playing fields at Inter River park (just South-West of the meeting point). See you tomorrow!

    do you know how long this ride is going to be?

    November 6, 2013

    • Fiona

      The app says 1.5 to 3 hours. I'm not sure how conservative the time estimates are. If the weather looks bad for Saturday, I'll suggest an alternative. A lot of this ride is on open trails where we won't be covered by the forest canopy.
