Group Shoot- USS Hornet $16

The Hornet takes you back in time. You can almost hear the music. This is a rich collection of history. Take your time checking out the flight deck, the ship it self, the main museum and even all the NASA stuff. The USS Hornet has a lot of restrictions, but the biggest one we need to be aware of is the size of the bag allowed on the ship. No joke, they will tell you to put it back in your car. Because of the tight stairways, ladders and corridors, we are limited to NO LARGER THAN 12X8X8. Backpacks are likely to be too large. My Think Tank Street Walker Pro is TOO BIG. Make this a really light day. Bring only a camera, maybe an extra lens, some batteries, and a snack. The Hornet does offer food and soft drinks for purchase- the quality does not match the price, and bring cash…
The entrance fee is $16 for adults. Seniors over 65 get a discount, and if we have 15 confirmed, I can get the tickets down to $12 each. This ship is only accessible with a decent amount of walking and climbing. There are no lifts, and stairways are extremely narrow and steep. Please be your own judge if this the right event for you. Also, a lot of the surfaces have small holes- so any shoe with a heel will get stuck. Dress in layers, bring a hat, and sunscreen.

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

Welcome to tag along with me, but I'm not coming home after, so you'll have to catch the way back with someone? Might be more complicated than ya worth though?

      April 5, 2014

    • Darren

Thanks Bobbi, however I will pass in this outing and try to catch a carpool next weekend.

How early will you plan on leaving?

    April 4, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

I probably will be leaving by 2, and I need to go to Fairfield, So I am unable to carpool.

      April 4, 2014

  • Bruce K.

I will be going to another shoot after the Hornet, so I will probably be leaving early, and driving solo. Bruce- I'll share your ticket.

    I bought a 2 for $16 ticket.
Anyone want to split it with me?

    April 3, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

I'll share it with ya of no one else does. I might get the four ticket, and see if anyone wants to split that. Especially if I bring my guests

      April 3, 2014

  • Bruce K.

Any one what to split either a 4 person or 2 person 1/2 price ticket?

    April 3, 2014

  • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

I just saw on groupon you can get a deal! 4 people for $29 or 2 people for $16.

I'm possibly a plus two. If they come with me, my car is full. If they choose not to come, I can help with carpooling.

      April 3, 2014

  • Bruce K.

Is there car pooling? I live in Novato.

Heads up- ladies please no heels or sandals. You will most likely be turned around for a safety hazard. Teva and keen type sandals are ok. And please take the bag warning seriously. 8x8x12 is the max size they allow. And they won't hesitate about asking you to put it in the car. Pack light for this trip- a walk around lens, a few extra batteries, maybe a flash, a snack and water.

I respectfully ask if the public is allowed access to the engine room?

    January 20, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

I don't know that answer, but I can send em an email.

      January 21, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

The engine room is not included. Sorry. The staff are quite wonderful. You might have a bit of luck if you call ahead and try to arrange it in advance.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
