Online assignment- Evening light 2 images

  • June 15, 2014 · 10:00 PM

Its been ages since I had to think about an online assignment, so let's jump back in with something easy- evening light. This light is considered some of the best light to work in, second in my opinion to morning light. It can be used for portraits, fashion, landscape, cityscapes, slow shutter/motion and my favorite, that super blue sky. You decide what you will shoot, and what evening is as it varies per person. It's up to you. I encourage you to challenge yourself and not just to show off with a beautiful image. Maybe try using manual, maybe rent a lens, maybe try for some new editing technique or even try an unusual/new to you subject. We are all artists here, so it's okay to take risks. Like always- if you would like feed back on your images, please ask for it. For those that do not ask for feedback on their images, please do not offer suggestions, and critique even if it is meant to help. Submit two images made between May 31st, '14 and June 15th. Please no archive digging. The idea is to get the creative juices flowing. If you know how, images resized to 1000 on the long/72 dpi/jpeg are preferred for easy viewing. I also share the images with credit on our Facebook page. If you do not wish to share your image, please let me know. I will respect your wishes. Voted winner gets a million bragging points, and profile pics for our meet up and fabebook pages.

It is great to have these assignments in order to get us out there and thinking about and seeing what might be possible--expands our horizons!

I'm really glad to have started online assignments again! Can you define "evening light"? I went out last night and shot the SS point Reyes at Inverness at around 730. The photo that you have posted for this meet up is actually at night. Can you clarify?

Like I said above, the horizon between late afternoon, true evening and near night vary per the photographer. My image was taken around 6, so time isn't relevant.
