This was fun last year, so I'm putting it back up.

I have been out scouting locations for fall landscape. And while I'll admit we don't have as much color as the eastern Sierras or even the East Coast, we have enough to get the point across. PLEASE NOTE- this will not be a group meeting. Please go on your own time. The longer you wait, the worse the colors will get. This route took me 4 hours, and I was pushing fast against the sun and I am very comfortable with my camera settings. In reality, it will probably 5-6 hours to complete the full route. If time is short, only do a part of the route. I recommend being familiar with the area or using a road map of Sonoma County. GPS and cell service is not always reliable on these roads. Landmarks are not listed because I want to see what other people see as photos along the same route. Watch for the light to be on the subject and not behind it or there will be strong silhouetting unless you can light it up somehow. Be very careful about where you park and where you stand. Some of these areas have blind corners, and we have had a summer's worth of pedestrian accidents- don't be the next one.

At the end of November, we will decide which photo is (voting like the assignments) the best, and that photographer will get a free 11x14 print of the image! Each photographer may post up to 10 images from the Tour. Please make sure your images are 640 on the large side, at 72 dpi. And if you can watermark your images, even better, because what goes on the internet spreads like ants in a pantry. At least if someone else finds your image, it will be too small to print, and hopefully your water mark will still be attached.

Left on Hall rd Right on Willowside Rd Left on Piner Left on Olivet rd Right on Guerneville Rd Right on Laguna Continue on Trenton/Healdsburg Rd Right onto Eastside Road (crossover River Road- sorta tricky here) Continue on Eastside Rd Continue on to Old Redwood Hwy Continue on to Healdsburg Ave Left on Westside Road Left on Wohler Rd- be aware of the one lane bridge. Only one direction fits at a time.Right on Wohler rd Right on River Road Left on Maribel Take 116 back to Sebastopol to go home.
