Jocieanna won the "Leave It" contest and got second place on the "Stay" contest! She and her two pups also helped out with the fashion show when it turned out they were short a few models. ;) We had so much fun and look forward to next years expo.

Congratulations to Kiari and Raider on hitting the news tonight! So proud of them, too bad their momma Jocianna couldn't get a spot on the news as well. ;)

I had Piper in the tiny dog contest, and she actually would have won if they based it on height as she was the shortest one there. But they weigh the dogs, and dachshunds are more solid dogs than Chihuahuas and Yorkies. She was the heaviest one at 7.25 pounds.

Sorry I missed seeing most of you, but I was glad to see Amanda and Jocieanna win the Leave It contest on Sunday! Also got to see Jack and Sarah for a few minutes!

I will be out at the Expo on Sunday from 10 to 1 in the RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota) booth helping them. I don't think I will be able to make it out there today.

I am also going on Sunday. We have been practicing leave it for weeks

The schedule of activities is posted today (10/14). Here's the link: http://www.greatiowapetexpo.com/pages/schedule

Are all of you planning on meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday or are you just going sometime during the weekend? I may be stewarding at the agility trial in the Jacobson building from 7:30 a.m. til noon, so I probably won't be over there until noon. A lot of the activities don't start until after 12 anyway.

Wish they would post the schedule of the contests and events. :/ Still isn't posted on the Iowa Pet Expo website.

The woman who runs the Pet Expo isn't really that organized, ironically enough. It's interesting dealing with her. Maybe they'll get the schedule posted sometime before the expo starts!

Does anyone know how long the winner of the leave it contest lasted, or the winner of the stay contest from last year? I was hoping to get an idea on how tough our competition will be when we compete this year. :)

Do you know if the competitors were allowed to say "leave it" or "stay" multiple times or just the one time?

      September 20, 2014

    • Pam

Sorry, but I don't remember. It seems like it was just the one time. I had Kes in it once years ago, and I think if I had kept saying Leave It, she would have left it alone.
