Join me for a local Historical treat at The View and Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, Lunch at The Butlers retreat and a short stroll around Connaught water. (weather permitting) This is one of my favourite local haunts which I'd like to share with you. Free Entry to! Meeting in the View.
The View tells the story of Epping Forest including:
History of Epping Forest, how it came to be a public open space, what you can see in the Forest and what you can do to help us protect it. Forest Exhibition and display cases, shop and Art exhibition on the first floor.

Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge is next door to the View and was built for Henry VIII in 1543. It was intended as a grandstand from which the King’s guests could view the Royal hunt and participate by shooting the deer with crossbows from the upper floors.
Connaught Water is a short 5 minute stroll from the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge. Connaught Water is a stunning, ten-acre lake located within Epping Forest, one of the largest forests in the country and the biggest wooded area around London. The water is named after the Duke of Connaught, the first-ever ranger of Epping Forest.
Lunch at the Larder at Butlers Retreat, a beautifully restored Essex Barn on the edge of Epping Forest on Chingford.
I'm looking forward to this one, something for everyone so I hope to see a few of you.
