H1N1 and You with Marion Elliot

Please RSVP by calling Joyce at 514-998-3863 thank you.

We need information other than what is being fed to us by the media about H1N1. Please take an hour and a half of time from you busy schedule to get this important information from a brilliant woman with decades of experience in the wellness industry. Without the other side of the story you can not be truly informed.

The H1N1 influenza scare has people worried and confused. More than ever before, we are exposed to junk science, fear-mongering and a bewildering range of medical opinion. Tonight Marion will review the source, risk and treatment of the swine flu itself.

She will also discuss the issues with the vaccine - its benefits, risks, and complicating factors. She will illuminate ways to prevent the disease, from hygiene and supplementation to building immune defenses.

Finally, she will provide you with web-resources to read the studies and articles that provide clear information about the disease, its prevention and its treatment.

There are not many people that I deem to be a genius, but Marion is on my short list, her knowledge and comprehension of wellness is profound, and I have first hand witnessed her success at helping people overcome illness, please read below for a more detailed summary of her experiences.

Bio - Marion Elliot

Marion has been practicing alternative and complementary medicine for over twenty years. Her independent study of the supersensible has spanned forty years, ranging from the study of Christianity and Judaism, through a diploma programme in Spiritual Psychotherapy, to her current interest in Anthroposophic Orgonomy.

Marion studied with the Hahnemann College for Heilkunst, having finally found a school that taught Dr. Hahnemann’s method by principle. She has been in Heilkunst practice for five years and continues her interest in medicine for the elderly, as well as women in midlife and children.

Marion also has completed her degree in Food Science at McGill University and a diploma in Natural Health Consulting at Institute NHC in Montreal. Her practice history includes, practicing in nutrition, energy methods, bodywork (massage, shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and cranio-sacral work) and adjuncts including homotoxicology, herbology, and aromatherapy.

Tonight at the West Island Complementary Health Alliance October evening meeting we are focusing on this current issue in our communities. We will of course have time to network and present our businesses, entrepreneurs and those who are self employed there is a $ 15.00 meeting fee, visitors who are currently not working or who are WICHA annual members the fee for attendance is $ 5.00.

Special date, special time, VERY special meeting. Nancy Chernoff is one of the neatest ladies I have ever met, and tonight we are in for an incredible treat. Nancy is leading us in an hour long empowerment workshop that is NOT to be missed.

Nancy is owner of Fearless Flame and she walked the fire for the first time in 1996 as part of a training seminar with Anthony Robbins. The empowerment she felt that day set her on a new path that took her very far away indeed from the corporate world where she spent 22 years of her life in top executive positions. Search for more meaning in her life she studied and worked with the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY the largest holistic wellness retreat in North America becoming certified as a yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner.

7:00 Meet, Munch and Mingle - Sign in, grab a name tag & help yourself to something to eat while you acquaint yourself or deepen your relationship with other attendees

7:15 Greetings & Business - ie: membership news, special guests, announcements and objectives etc...

7:30 - 30 Second Infomercials & Quickie Testimonials. Each member and guest has the opportunity to introduce themselves and their business in their 30 second infomercial.

7:45 - Modality of The Month - Nancy will be leading us in an Empowerment Workshop culminating is some very own Board Breaking of our own.

8:45 - Green Gab (if time permits) - I thought it might be interesting to explore, (since Nancy's company is called Fearless Flame) what the impact of fire has on our environment, parts of Montreal have recently banned the use of fireplaces, I'd like to have a short discussion about this in our Green Gab segment.

9:00 Open networking

I will again be providing some refreshments for the meeting, assistance in cleanup at the meeting is greatly appreciated. Please bring your own cup and name tag if applicable.

It is not very often that we get the opportunity to learn amazing life skills and business techniques from a trained professional. This morning's meeting is not to be missed! Our lives in general are over full and lets face it even though so many of us are in the wellness industry we do suffer from everyday stress, which might be responsible for hindering our success. This morning, Dale Choquette, a business development representative and success coach with the Dale Carnegie Business Group in Montreal, will be speaking to us about how to Relax and Succeed. In her current position, Dale works with individuals and businesses to build their communication, human relations and leadership skills, as well as time and stress management. Having more than 20 years experience in the corporate arena, Dale is now bringing this experience into her new found passion for supporting individuals and companies in unleashing their potential to achieve extraordinary personal and business results. Dale lives in DDO with her husband, Claude and their dog Cindy. In her spare time Dale teaches yoga/meditation. You can also see her running around the West Island training for another race.

7:30 Meeting Greet & Eat - ie: grab a coffee or tea on WICHA get to know some of the other attendees, and any food you like can be ordered a la carte. We'll make some announcements for upcoming workshops, events, and objectives etc... (Please keep your announcements brief)

8:00 Topic of the Month Relax your way to success. Research has shown that daily stressors have a greater impact on our health and productivity than previously thought. As entrepreneurs we have a lot on our plates and family only adds to our to-do list. How can we learn to de-stress and give ourselves a break?

After 16 years in pharmaceutical purchasing, Dale went out on her own to explore the wellness industry where she uncovered a hidden talent for guiding people to improve themselves. She focused in on business coaching where she has the best of both worlds. At today's you will learn and leave with;
- a better knowledge of what pushes your buttons and how to handle it
- tips on letting go of the unnecessary
- instant relaxation techniques
