Penny's Eynsford Circular

9 mile walk includes following the Darent River, climbing up to the slope of the Downs with magnificient views, then back into Shoreham following the stream back to Eynsford.

Picnic lunch with optional pub stop at the end.

The forecast so far is dry and bright. But it is bound to be muddy in parts because of the recent rain. I recommend wearing walking boots if you have them.

Thanks for organising the walk Penny. Very enjoyable, excellent company and Tom was relieved we didn't have to start eating the smallest first! Look forward to next time and see if I can get you into geocaching. Andrew + Tom

Hi Andrew, it's lucky you left when you did as when we stopped for lunch, a couple of people hadn't brought food. Look forward to more geocaching lessons. Penny

Hi Penny, I really enjoyed the walk, and the company. I will make sure to bring a spare pair of shoes next time so that I can go for the drinks too at the end of the walk....

Hi, last minute but I would like to join the walk today. If I can be a bit cheeky I'll bring my son (12) as he is with me this weekend. We know the area quite well so we may just return early if it gets too hard for him. My mobile is[masked] 914. Andrew + Tom

Has been a bit soggy in the Darent Valley over the last few weeks, but water levels have dropped a little now, so think it'll be wellies rather than wetsuits, fingers crossed!

Hope it is not too flooded as Eynsford tends to be a bit of a hot area for water. Better bring some wet suit

Hi Charlie, Definitely up for a drink at the end - think we'll need it after those 9 miles! Eva

Good to see the WKWOG is now on Meetup!! Look forward to seeing you Penny and everyone else tomorrow. Just a note on the parking - space is a bit limited outside the pub (esp on a Sunday I should think) - but in the past I've left the car in the pub car park (which is large) at the back and haven't had any problems doing so. Would also be good to have a drink in the pub at the end of the walk if anyone else is interested?

Hi Charlie. True the early bird gets the spaces outside the pub. Sometimes they block off the pub carpark, but there is a car park around the corner back over the bridge, to the left and then immediate left into the car park.

It depends on the length of the walk, and how quickly people walk, but in general around 3pm.

Hi, just joined, would have loeved to have joined in with this walk but I have a prior engagement. What time do the Sunday walks generally finish.. (approx) please

Hi Maggie. There is parking in the road outside the pub. We won't be stopping anywhere to buy food, so you will have to bring something with you. We will be eating in the open if the weather is dry, so bring something to sit on (plastic bag or waterproof). Otherwise, you could eat at the pub at the end of the walk.

    Hi Penny,

I plan to drive, is there car park nearby?

Also, will we stop somewhere that we can buy food at lunch time?

    Thanks
