After Work Dinner / Fun / Family Social . . NO ALCOHOL EVENT !

When: Wednesday July 30th[masked]

Where: Location shown to members only.

What time: 6:30 p.m. OR when you arrive.

Costs: Various depending upon what you bring with you.

Weather: If good weather this event will be as planned, if it is raining or other bad weather is close or appears to ruin this event, I will Cancel the event and move it to another date.

We will be going to the Kent County Viewing area for dinner to watch the planes land and hopefully see a great sunset in the evening as well.

Everyone bring your favorite take out food or something from home ( THIS IS NOT A POT LUCK ) for yourself and extra if you care to share what your bringing but NOT REQUIRED ....

Bring a lawn chair, blanket or foldable table if you like .... though there are limited picknic tables there.

Bug Spray is a good idea as well as sometimes there are bugs there and sometimes, maybe due to all the airport activity there isn't.

THERE IS NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ... and you will be arrested if you have any ....... The FAA drives though alot so you have been warned.

Car pooling from my Wyoming home is available.... contact for details.

IMPORTANT - The viewing area has no address.

It is located off of Kraft North of 52nd street so if you go to Kraft south of 52nd street and go north, you will dead end into it.

Throughout any given day, as many as 300 aircraft take off or land at GFIA. From the locations below, GFIA patrons have an excellent view of aircraft activity.

The viewing area, situated on Kraft Avenue north of 52nd Street, is the ideal place to watch aircraft take off and land at Gerald R. Ford International.

It is especially popular during the summer months when dozens of "bird-watchers" flock there daily to watch the planes come and go. The airport viewing area provides unmatched entertainment for aviation buffs and families, and the park-like space is furnished with picnic tables and litter barrels for picnickers.

While at the viewing area, tune in your radio to 1650 AM to listen to air traffic controllers, pilots, and GFIA airfield operations staff as they coordinate the safe passage of aircraft into and out of GFIA. The airport viewing area is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. While the viewing area is patrolled by Airport Police, patrons are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the Airport Communications Center at[masked]-6055.

I might go depending on weather. Do you want to meet at carpool closer to Holland?

Lori, I am already planning to meet Cynthia at the Carpool lot by McDonald's in Zeeland. We are leaving at 5:45 if you want to join us. Hopefully the weather will be nicer than what today was.
