Meetup potluck will be on August 24, 2012 at 6 pm.

Each person to bring a dish to pass. I will furnish free range BBQ chicken but will need to take orders, assuming I get reimbursed at the meetup. I will charge per piece, but please email the quantity of dark or white meat you want before August 17. Hannah/Aaron (members & sponsor of our group & creator's of the local paleo diet website called The Whole Kitchen) will help prepare this chicken dish using their recipe (see this link for more about this recipe: http://www.thewholekitchen.com/grilled-chicken-and-blueberry-salsa/) If you send me your recipe(s) a few days before the event, I will print these up to share with others at the meeting.

I would like to do some blood moving activities after the meal. If you like, we can do some "Primal Lifesyle Play" as Mark Sisson would say. If we get enough people, we can do some active games such as volleyball or whatever other activities you can suggest to burn off some blood sugar after the meal. Note, there is a small City pocket park, called "Calvin Crest Park" off of Ivanrest at Calvin Christian High School which is right behind our yard that we can use and it has playground equipment, tennis courts, basketball court, ball diamond, and an open area to set up yard games. So bring any kids if you wish.

Please RSVP asap.

To comment or give further discussion, please go to the Discussion portion of this website about this meetup.

How about if each person coming bring all your paleo cookbooks with you & we put all these on a table for all to examine? It should be interesting. Did you know if you search "Paleo Diet" in Amazon.com you get > 500 books?

Big thanks to Bob and Linda for taking the initiative to host the meetup and being so generous to share their backyard with us. The food was great and the conversation even better. Looking forward to the next shindig!

Add 1 for your guest! No one has yet but you're kind of supposed to... no worries either way!

I'll be there with little ladies (my 2 daughters). Intense play time is limited for me as I am staring at knee surgery in the near future. Looking forward to it!

Awesome. I've been waiting for someone to go ahead and host a pot luck like this with activities after or before. I am not 100% sure that I can attend but I will do my best and will probably be there. I'll keep checking back here and looking at discussion for updates.

It's a small world. I think paleo cooking is more challenging b/c of the time factor. It's not like it used to be w/ opening a can of something when you try to eat fresh raw foods. I never used a butcher knife so much in my life until now. Anyhow it is nice to share ideas on how to prepare and make paleo foods quicker. My wife is not paleo, but I am. So it makes it tough b/c I'm on my own. BTW the discussion part of this web is a better place to discuss. Has more space & better for editing.

August 24th seems to work well for me! August 3 also works haha. :) And I know exactly where you are! I live right near there! I run through the park all the time :) Can't wait to come! I am just learning to cook more so I will do my best with the Paleo dish; I'm trying to learn, and learn FAST! I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
