Mythaholme and The National Memorial Arboretum Walk

Start point: the National Memorial Arboretum car park at 10.15 for a 10:30 start.

Croxall Road Alrewas DE13 7AR.

Please note: £3 car parking charge. Please bring a packed lunch.

Mythaholme and the National Memorial Arboretum

A combination of a five mile walk followed by a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum (free admission)

Mythaholme

Mythaholme can be translated as a piece of land, almost surrounded by water, at the place where two rivers meet. The Mythaholme Bridge will provide a crossing point for a planned long distance footpath from Birmingham to the Humber. The walk explores parts of the Trent valley.

National Memorial Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum is a very special place honouring those who have served, and continue to serve, our nation in many different ways. 50,000 trees have been planted since opening in 1997.

There is a café and a gift shop but no planned pub stop.

I have been to The National Memorial Arboretum a number of times and always find it to be a very thoughtful experience - the five mile walk in the surrounding area will give us chance to stretch our legs and find out about the history of Mythaholme
