Gun Quarter Pub Crawl

  • Dec 21, 2013 · 7:00 PM

Gun Quarter Pub Crawl.... wearing silly hats!

This will be an offbeat event in a lesser trodden area of Birmingham's City Centre.

On the last Saturday night before Christmas, when many people have broken up from work (or school), everywhere in the Old City and Broad Street and New Street areas will probably be unpleasantly crowded, with those who've been doing last minute shopping or wandering around the end-of-season Frankfurt Markets or just feeling like going on a drinking spree.

Sobs liberally...!

Have no fear, we have a cunning plan to avoid the crowds, by visiting some of Birmingham's best kept secrets, all within easy walking distance of Snowhill and Moor Street train stations.

We will start at 7pm prompt (or slightly earlier) in one of our (relatively) regular venues:-

The Jekyll and Hyde, 28 Steelhouse Lane, B4 6BJ

....with the intention of moving on from there within 20 minutes for a mystery tour of FIVE other pubs, mainly in the Gun Quarter. There promises to be an interesting choice of different real ales available, and some very nice traditional pubs to warm our hearts for Christmas!

We will operate normal pub crawl rules. The pub crawl leader will announce departure time from each pub once everyone has been served, and will then call 5 minutes before leaving to ensure everyone drinks up and is ready to leave together.

Do please bring a costume hat to wear, even if only to keep your head warm while we run the gauntlet between our selected hostelries

NB: Attendance minimum of 8, Maximum of 25 to ensure flow between venues

Hi Tim, there are hopefully quite a few more coming than the RSVPs suggest, so yes please do join us, and please do try to meet us at the first pub, as it could be hard to catch up with us later on.
