The doctor will see you now!

This month we're running a ruby "surgery" where you can ask your ruby-related questions or get your ruby code critiqued.

So, bring along your laptops and code samples.  It'll really help us if you could add a comment on meetup if there's any particular topic you would like us to cover or specific questions you'd like answering so that we can dig out useful material or create any code examples beforehand and will help us put a basic agenda together to help the session run smoothly.

As usual please let us know via meetup if you'll be attending so we can arrange suitable amounts of pizza and drinks.

Many thanks for the Pizza and help guys, very useful chat with Jon and Rich. Can't wait to be able to follow more of your stuff Omar.

Totally second Paul's comment - Great meetup, thanks Omar and Andy for the coding session - excellent insight into how a developer ... develops with TDD (could see the importance of TDD last night, even for a simple app!) See you next time

Billed as a surgery to help fresh ruby/rails journeymen (like me), it was a fantastically helpful evening. Thank you all so much for the advice and pointers on my Rails learning journey.
I really got to see the benefits of Capistrano in one-to-one with Andy. Later, at the slightest suggestion of creating an identity server (for single sign to multiple services - like Google has), Omar started it code it from the lectern on the big screen. Using TDD style with everyone chipping in their knowledge, for example what HTTP return codes etc.
The group knew of some fantastic resources eg http://httpstat.us/, http://httpstatus.es/ and even investigated the behaviour of a similar system - I missed which one.
That was awesome and inspiring guys!

Hi everyone, just a reminder it's WMRUG tomorrow so please RSVP if you're coming along. We haven't had any comments from anyone yet on any particular topics they'd like covering in the workshop.

    - See you there!

We talked last time about going over some Ruby basics in the next meetup. Well I've been looking into how blocks, procs and lambdas work in Ruby, and thought that I could turn it into a decent talk. How about it for the February meetup?

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
