This meet-up is conceived with a single purpose: to make it easy for individuals who want to perform community service, to meet others with similar volunteering interests and organize groups to participate in specific events.

As volunteers, satisfaction is derived from knowing that with the simple act of donating time and labor, we've made a difference, however small it may be. Whether assembling bag lunches for the homeless or picking up trash on a beach on a clear, sunny morning, the fun comes from the performance of the task, as well as a feeling of accomplishment.

Most events in which we participate, take place on weekends, including, but not limited to, monthly beach clean-ups, a weekend bag lunch program, and the Lake Worth Streetpainting Festival. In addition, members can propose ideas for a meet-up event that suits their own interests.

So, if you want to "get your hands dirty" by being involved in the community, and can donate the time, join us!

    So what is gleaning? After commercial farm equipment has been used to harvest a crop, any remaining vegetables are recovered by volunteers, by hand.       I emailed the coordinator for this program, and was told that we can choose any Saturday from March 24 through the last Saturday in May. They would prefer that we register the group so that they can plan for a certain number of attendees. Here are the dates I think we can consider: March 31, April 21, May 19. These don't directly conflict with other events, but if anyone has suggestions please post.
