This looks like a job for...!

Anyone interested in doing a one-shot super-hero campaign? It was good getting to meet a bunch of you all a couple weeks playing fiasco. If anyone I have met or have not met is up for it, I would like to do a one-shot session. If it turns out everyone has a good time and schedules are right, we could maybe do some more. While I try to follow rules as close as I can, my gm style does stress story more over rules.

I went ahead and started another meetup thread, so we can get input on time and place for everyone who's interested.

If just the 5 or 6 of us... my place is always an option as well

From the middle of Tempe, Googlemaps says my apt is 35 minutes. Exit 129 of I-10. I just thought it would be simpler than having to reserve a table somewhere.

I'm open to Courtney's offer for her house or ASU as well. Those both sound like good options, with a little help from Courtney on directions. And if Imperial Outpost is still the best option for people, I can try to reserve something.

I don't know where that it is, I live in Tempe it doesn't sound close to me either

I'm not particularly close, but I don't mind making the trip.

Yeah, I should have realized it was a Saturday and it would be that crowded. I live near Old Avondale. If that is close to where people are, we can meet at our apt. next time. It will be less crowded and more snacks ;) I'll suggest a new meetup soon.

Yeah, Edgar and I were there waiting for a while and it was completely full. Generally Imperial Outpost works when it's not weekends, but if you asked for a table, kind of sucks that there weren't any available. I'd still like to play too. For where to play, I live with my parents in a pretty small house, so it wouldn't be too spacious, but I could probably convince them to let us use it here and there. I also have dogs and cats though. Another idea might be if ASU West has any social areas open in the evenings with tables. I know they have a cafeteria but am not sure what its hours are.

Hey, sorry peeps, I think I missed everyone tonight. It was pretty crowded, and I'm not sure that I arrived earlier enough to stake out a spot. I think it would still be awesome to do this another time. If anyone knows of a great time and place, let us know.

Guys, unfortunately, I won't be able to make tonight. I hope I can make the next one!

If anyone has made a hero already, that's awesome! We can finish rolling out heroes on Sat. I think I am aiming at a group of more earthbound heroes for now with a global scale. At this point, consider the group a bunch of B or C grade heroes that are being gathered together by an anonymous benefactor.
If anyone has questions (or my updates before the meetup are getting old ;) ) let me know.

Let's plan on doing Marvel Heroic system, then. I am interested in gming, so I will take care of putting it together. I also think it would be interesting for people to make new characters, unless you are dying to play heroes from the Marvel universe. If someone wants to play a hero from the Marvel universe, I am open to it, but I would be interested in seeing what kind of char's y'all can make.

Mixing power levels in a group seems to work fine in the new Marvel game. I'm probably going to build a Batman/Daredevil/Iron Fist ripoff. A street level hero with gadgets and skills to make him able to hang with the big dogs.

I used the random generator and I got a pretty bad ass cosmic dude, but I think I'll make a few more randoms and see what I come with. I'll bring them all and make a decision when we play.

Alright, I'm cool making a character. For the most part it is pretty easy to balance characters in the Heroic system, where the really powerful ones aren't much different than the more average ones.

My vote is for wither Marvel system. I know them both and so does Lonnie. I would be willing to run the game if need be, but I really like being a player as well. The old Marvel universe game was actually alot of fun... but the new heroic system is the best game I've run across for Supers... its totally perfect.

So we are talking about doing original super hero characters and just using a known system, correct? Either way, I also have a couple guide books for an older Marvel system, called Marvel Universe Roleplaying Game. I don't know how to use the system myself, as I haven't gotten to reading/playing it yet, but it's another option if desired. The only system I am totally familiar with of these is the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, but am up for learning anything really.

After this Saturday, Saturdays can work for me as well.

My top choice would be the Marvel system, but I would be open to using it to play in the Marvel, DC, or any other supers RPG setting. If we are making our own original characters, I would prefer the Marvel system as well. I would be most interested in M and M if we were playing in the DCU and we could play DC characters. But I might be up for just about anything everybody else agrees on.

So just let me know I'll need about a day to get it all together. And if its only gonna be 4 or 5 of us, I can host at my place... but I'm in Tempe now

Either would be awesome. I think I intended to put up system suggestions in my description, but as is obvious, did not.
I would love to play Marvel Heroic. I also have DC Adventures core book--which from what I understand is M&M 3 ed. I would love to gm something for either, but if Dean wants to gm something for M&M, I bow to his book power.

    November 13, 2012

    • Lonnie

So the choices on the table are you running Marvel Heroic or DC Adventures with the M and M system. Also Dean running M and M?

I wil run M&M, but I'm always up for Marvel's heroic game

If we are doing the new Marvel game, I would be ecstatic! But I would do M&M or something else too. Marvel Heroic Roleplay roolz!

I'd love to be a player with that system. Haven't had a chance yet.
