Holiday/ End of Year Celebration

Have you enjoyed coming to West Seattle's Premiere Board Game group? Have you met some awesome people and would love to recount the time you destroyed them in a game of Through the Ages? We do too!

We are planning a Holiday/End of Year Celebration to try and get everyone who has made this group awesome to come together. Uptown Expresso has donated their cafe on Delridge Way (and corner of SW Andover St.) for us to bring food and have some fun playing games.

If you plan to come, please bring some dish to share with others. Although the pies and cookies will be awesome, we want to balance them out with actual dinner food as well.

If you RSVP, Please put down what dish you can bring. Try to balance out healthy food with the caramel chocolate brownies I hope someone will bring :)

ALSO, we are looking at doing a Gift Exchange.  If you want to participate, Feel free to bring a game that is in the $15-$25 mark.  It can be new or used.  Make sure it's wrapped up too!

Please do not bring drinks. All drinks will be purchased at the cafe. They are generously staying open late just for us and are providing the space for free.

We hope you can come! We want to take some group photos of all of us for historical references.

Thanks to everyone for coming, great event. The group's success is secondary to the substantial number of people who contribute in a variety of ways. Also, there is a diversity of interests and something for everyone - what other group can you find people to play games ranging from Dynasty League baseball to Time's Up? I've started a new thread about ideas for the upcoming year.

      December 22, 2013

    • Nicole M

I brought chickpeas, but I didn't make them. PCC made them! They're from the deli counter, and they almost always have them. Also if you ask them, they will print out a copy of the recipe for you. :) Oh - they're called "turkish garbanzo beans" because they have figs in them.

Thank you to Alex and Uptown Expresso for giving us a space to ourselves to have a lot of fun and for some of us to play games to 3am. Thanks to everyone who showed up and brought a lot of holiday cheer to the party. This group is really amazing in how friendly and generous everyone is in the group. Thanks again for Noah and Gene in creating and fostering something that has become very special to my migration to Seattle. Thanks to Laura for the ornaments. Boo to everyone who stole a game from me in the exchange. I hope each time you play you are cursed. :)

It should be clearly indicated that this is NOT the Uptown Expresso we typically use - people may not pay attention to the address :)
