Wanted to see if anyone is interested in playing some games before the new year. Maybe get one more chance this year to win that one game.

This was my first WSBG meetup. I had a great time! Looking forward to others.

It was fun. Had to leave to be "somewhere else".
I should have checked earlier if people can actually make it at 1pm. Either way, I shall be there with new games.

I'll be there at 5
2:30 or 3:00.
Worked out fine. King of Tokyo was fun. I didn't finish last!!!

Can't make it I'm still sick and have plans for Eve.
I might have to work, but if not, I'll be there. Just a new 7 Wonders expansion that I haven't tried yet.

We're excited to meet some new people! Should we bring any games with us? Carcasonne? Arkham Horror?

Carcassonne gets no love here in West Seattle :-( It could also be a challenge to get a really long game to the table. I'm guessing people will be bringing several new games as well since it's right after Christmas.
Though I have to say I have never played Carcasonne. I agree w/ Noah that Arkham might not work. I usually bring between 5-10 games. If other people are coming, they will also bring about that many games. I would say that if you have a game you really want to play with others, bring it. I like learning new games while teaching my favorite ones.

Why does Carcassonne get "no love"? I haven't seen anyone bring it so it may be more of an issue of people not bringing the game. I had a copy which I just traded a couple of months ago. While it is not a game I prefer, it is a good light Euro which plays fairly quickly - I think plenty of people would like it if they played it.

I've brought Carcassonne a few times, but there was no interest. It's not really one of my favorites, but I enjoy playing it and find that others do, too. Our group just has so many other great choices of games to play that Carcassone gets sidelined.
I'd be willing to try Carcasonne again. The one time I played it I was kind of annoyed - but that had less to do with the game and more to do with my brother cheating!
Uptown closes at 8pm. I would be willing to move to somewhere else afterwards to bring in the new year. I'd offer my place but everyone would have to bring a chair or if more then 6 people come we would probably all have to stand :).

Anyone figure out when this is closing?
Looks like Cafe Mox is staying open until 1 AM.
Would love to come later in the afternoon - I too will have to work (they'll probably let us out early though).
I'll be coming late if you guys are still there. Regular workday for me.
How late are you planning to play? I can get there in the late afternoon... How late are they open?
I will gather that info tomorrow.

This is a group that meets in West Seattle. We play (mostly) Euro board games (e.g., Settlers, Dominion), but are open to playing any type of board game from the party games to very complex games.
Any West Seattle based gaming event is ok to announce here, with the approval of the organizers.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
