Theme Thursday: Steve Jackson "Lite"

Theme Thursday:  Steve Jackson games!  This one is by request.  If you're not familiar with Steve Jackson, most of his games involve a lot of HUMOR.  I'll bring Zombie Dice and Chez Geek.  Hopefully someone can bring Illuminati.  And maybe it is time we just play Munchkin already and get it over with.  :)

Please patronize the establishment.  While you're there you can have a pastry or drink at the cafe as a way to thank them, or, put a dollar in the tip jar for the barrista.

There is a small parking lot in front of Uptown Espresso.  Street parking and free lots are nearby.  Multiple bus lines stop in the California/Alaska junction, one block north of UE.

NEW PLAYERS: YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THE GAMES.  WE WILL TEACH.

Has anyone played Illuminati before? It's been a few years for me and I'm not sure I remember the rules...

That sounds like a good plan, I'll refresh on the rules too, and see if there is a good ref sheet on the BGG. I was looking it over yesterday and most of it was coming back pretty quick.

The last page in the rules provides a pretty good summary of most of what you need to know. Here's a link to a pdf of that from Steve Jackson Games: http://www.sjgames.co... . There are special cases (like privileged attacks, uses of cards and the like) that aren't covered there, but especially if you've played before you could likely get through a game just using that as a reference sheet in a pinch. And of course it goes without saying that I'd love to play a game in the future if I can make it to a meetup when people are interested!

I had never heard of Steve Jackson before. . and Steve went to Rice University! :) I was there for a little bit (longer than it takes to play Chez Geek).

I'm over the flu and finally have my wheels back, so humorous games sound great!

I can't make this week, but If there was a handy way to get it to someone I'd be happy to try to get my copy of Illuminati! to the group to play. It's a great game and it'd be great to know the set might get some use!

If anyone has a cunning plan for a way for me to deliver the game to a useful spot today or tomorrow let me know.

Do you work in downtown? Live in West Seattle? Maybe I can pick it up from you. And thank you for supporting the theme. I'm embarrassed to admit I have just 2 SJ games to contribute. On the other hand, it seems like the least popular theme ever. :)

I live in West Seattle and am pretty mobile over the next couple days, so I could likely get the game somewhere useful during the day if that would help.

Just don't tell Steve Jackson. Bring the games in a paper bag.

There was also a request for Hacker if anyone has that. This is still many weeks out, so we'll have time to figure out more details when it gets closer.

Oh no! Say it isn't so! I would be interested in playing Revolution if anyone has it.

Humor? What! Games should be very dry and no laughs.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
