CVNP Virginia Kendall Ledges (map)
<p>The leaves are starting to change. The air is getting crisp and cool outside. We're getting the jeans and sweatshirts out again...its the perfect time for an early autumn picnic lunch and hike through one of Northeastern Ohio's most beautiful areas, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park! True, its a little out of the way, but if you've ever been (or never been!) down to the CVNP in the fall, you know its something to soak up and behold! A true treasure that some have never had the opportunity to check out (you could easily spend days and days exploring the area and never see the same thing twice!) The Ledges Trail is detailed here. I've been there many a time and can say that its worth the drive...lots of rocks for the kids to climb on, there's Ice Box Cave to walk into, carvings people have done in the side of the canyons... When done, we could always go down to Virgina Kendall Lake (not more than a half mile down the road) and have a late lunch lakeside (optional! Bring food if you want to!), then go hiking around that area as well.
Virgina Kendall Lake and Lakehouse! A neat overhead look at the Ledges area! So, we'll meet in the parking lot of the Ledges at 11:00 AM. I'll be standing right by the trail head (you can't miss it, its to the very back of the lot, right over by the large pavilions. Once we're all there, we'll head out to the Ledges for an afternoon hike! As always, if you can't find us, are going to be late or just can't make it, drop me a call or text at [masked]. Hope to see you there for a day of fall hiking! Meet you here! (Below!)
