July Book Discussion - I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai

A group member suggestion...thanks Lalita! Many of you may have heard Malala's story in the news. She was only 15 years old when she was shot point blank in the head by the Taliban because she was outspoken about females having the same rights to an education as males do.

She has made a miraculous recovery and continues to risk her life as an advocate for girls getting an education. The link to the Amazon book description and reviews is listed below.

This is another suggestion by one of our group members and an important and inspiring one at that. I thought it would be a good suggestion as it serves as a reminder of how fortunate we are to enjoy the lifestyles and opportunities that we can create for ourselves. I think we all may be inspired by Malala's example of unimaginable bravery in her fight for her cause.

Just changed my RSVP. Haven't gotten even close to finishing the book, and don't think I'll get the chance to in the next couple of days. Hope you all have a great discussion!

Hello Everyone! Hope your 4th of July was great. I want to send out an early reminder on this one...if you won't be attending please be sure to change your RSVP. I capped this at 24 and we have 4 on the waiting list. Usually I just tell the waitlist people to come anyway but I am hesitant this time because we may not have the room. So please be sweet and change your RSVP seat if you know you won't be able to attend. Thanks!!!
