I hope it blows past us too as I was really looking forward to this meeting. I plan on attending unless the roads are bad

The weather looks like it will be a challenge.

It was an interesting book...and I'm looking forward to the discussion. If we get piles of snow, I probably won't make it. But, I sure hope it blows right by us :) I am planning on bringing a bag full of books that will be headed to the used book store. So, if any of you ladies want any of them...feel free to take any that catch your interest.

Hi, due to my work schedule I have to cancel for tomorrow. Read the book and I'm sure it would be a good discussion. Hope to make it to the next one. Thanks!

This was a great book and will probably lead to a great discussion. However, if it does snow 12 inches, it's unlikely I'll make it tomorrow. I work in Northbrook and it will take a LONG time to get home. Maybe it won't be that bad.....

I'm looking forward to discussing this book and meeting all of you. I just realized that I don't know where you are meeting. Have I missed it on this page somewhere? It's very cool that the author is interacting with you! :) -Kate

Sam, we are excited to read your book - one of our members read it and recommended it. Perhaps you might be available by skype to answer some questions during the discussion that evening? Let me know.

So sorry I missed this message! I would have replied a long time ago. As for Tuesday, I regret to report that I am indisposed that evening. I am president of the local Heritage Council and Tuesday is our meeting. I'd love to participate if I could, though. Please do feel free to shoot me any questions before or after the meet-up. And do feel free to be aggressive, even if it tends to the negative. I have gotten a lot of feedback about the book. Sometimes it evokes strong feelings. Some people think it's a light, funny read. Other's think it's frivilous or silly. Others think it's extremely helpful. Other think it's disastrously mean. I am open to all interpretations. If you feel like you want to run one or more of them past me to get a reaction, please do. Not to offer any spoilers... but Michele and I are expecting our sixth this coming July. My tendency towards excess continues!

I just found out I have to go out of town. I enjoyed the book and am disappointed I will not be able to share in the discussion. See you next month.

I'm thrilled you guys are giving it a shot. I won't say too much, as I'd prefer not to color your take on it. I'll only submit that the book tends to get extreme reactions. Some people really like it. Other people hate it. It was like that all the way through. I had some editors say, "This could sell like crazy, but I hate this guy and won't work with him." Other people said, "I love this guy, but the book won't sell five copies." Weird! I will only add that a reviewer from a Sacramento alt-weekly, in addition to calling me an idiot, said something to the effect that the book "represents everything that'a wrong with post-Millenial America." To which my response is... "Exactly." I hope it's worth your while!
