The Thursday West Valley Writer's Critique Group

This group is designed to provide writers with immediate feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their writing. Writers should bring 6-8 hard copies of their work to share with the group. The printed copies permit participants to make direct written comments, while the on site presence permits verbal comments. Stories, poems, essays, novel chapters or segments, non-fiction, fiction, how to topics, memoirs, screenplays, stage plays, scripts, are all acceptable genre. Keep every genre alive. 4-8 pages/[masked] words works well for this kind of session.

Individuals are also welcome to observe if they're not ready to share their work for critique.

The first 30 minutes (6:15 PM) is a social, get to know your fellow authors period. Readings and critiques begin promptly at 6:45 PM. During the sign-in period Moderators will divide the writers into 2-4 break-out groups of 4-6 authors.

No food is available on the building site, however, a Sonic is directly across the street and several restaurants are located on Central Avenue. Snacks and beverages can be brought into the building. Parking is available on site.

The Gangplank provides Pizza for all Thursday night events.

A very good evening. With only four reading we were able to discuss each piece at length and many positive suggestions were passed around! This is such fun - the people talented and helpful. I consider myself fortunate to be part of such a group of writers.

Not going to be able to make it tonight. I apologize, but I have a sick little kiddo that needs her Daddy.

Will see you all next week.

Best of luck in all your writing endeavors...

Excellent commentary and critiques on stories. As always the stories are interesting and get you involved in the stories. It was nice to have a little extra time to discuss other things because I learned a lot from this session. Great group to share time with and very beneficial.

I'm sorry I have to miss this one. My husband's rehearsal got moved! You didn't scare me off!

I'm putting yes but it's dependent on my husband's doctor's appointment that afternoon. It shouldn't be a problem though.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
