HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Been a while since I've posted or ran any Meetups. One of my resolutions is to make my community fit and do so using the wonderful outdoors.
I chose WoodWard Park as it offers us an intense 7-10 minutes of uphill hiking / jogging. We would tackle the incline using intervals. So push ourselves to 80% for 20 seconds and then back to 50% of max effort etc. Interval training has done wonder for my own cardio and its a great method to burning fat fast.
At the top of Woodward PArk we will have access to a driveway and shade if need be but we will be outside. We will be using kettlebells, resistance bands and calisthenics (bodyweight exercises) and use these tools to perform high intensity interval training (HIIT) as well as use Tabata protocol. Again its great for burning fat and promoting lean muscle. A ton of core work will be incorporated as well as postural alignment work using the resistance bands. Stretching will be done at the end of the session and thats where you will want to have that extra layer of clothing as your heart rate comes down.
I have mentioned all levels are welcome as I can scale the workout according to your current fitness level. I will demonstrate beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of the movement. The venue is gorgeous if you love the outdoors. Remember we will experience rain at some point so make sure you bring your waterproofs as well as your gameface!
As you come to more sessions I will be able to analyze your fitness levels and provide varied more challenging workouts as we get stronger. "Routine is the enemy of progress" and I promise you i will have you doing a variety of movements.
If the group grows i will start running the camps more frequently and take it from there.
Look forward to meeting with you all :)
