Secular humanists maintain that religions, which are supposed to preach peace, actually cause separation between groups of people, and even lead to wars. Contemporary examples of this are the events in Afghanistan, Libya, Pakistan, and Somalia, and even incidents by militant Islamists in the US. Thus we have the downside of religions.
And of course there comes to mind Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former mentor!

Here are two more people have suggested:

Can religious and nonreligious people ever truly understand one another... and what does this say about our ability to reach consensus on important societal issues.

The limits of tolerance. We're all supposed to respect the convictions and lifestyles of others but when such views are plainly ludicrous or objectionable when is it appropriate to speak out?

Here's another topic: Is it possible to see the "divine" in everyone, even evil or destructive people?
