Join us for authentic West African djembe drumming led by Baba Abubakr Kouyate, a master drummer with 40 years of experience. He teaches in African village style. All levels play and learn complex rhythms together on sangba, dunnun-ba, kenkeni, and djembe. Each person learns at his/her own pace.

Baba Abubakr Kouyate, a master drummer with over 40 years of performing and teaching experience, has been teaching us the complex, multipart rhythms of Guinea and Mali. From your first meetup, even if you've never drummed before, you are playing a part in a group where every person has a special part to play.
