And so doeth the Tax Man (more on that at Harry's). April is the subject of poets and songsters. Geoffrey Chaucer and Paul Simon had favorable opinions of the month, T.S. Elliot less so. Events of the 19th include the first Boston Marathon (1897), Grace Kelly marrying Rainier III of Monaco (1956), and Mae West being sentenced for an obscene stage performance to ten days in a work house and fined $500 (1927). The latter should be an inspiration for a song - where have you gone Mae..a nation turns it lonely eyes to you (sorry Paul). So grab some tabs and bring 12 copies. The agenda for the meetup is:
7:30-9:00 - 1 1/2 hours of our usual selection of songs you think the group would like to play. Try to keep the songs to five chords or less; try to avoid C#dim7's and that ilk. Please bring at least 12 copies of your tab to hand out to the group. You can track the number of people coming on our website.
9:00-9:30ish - Showoff time - got a song you or others in the group have been practicing together and think you are ready for prime time, here's your chance.
9.30pm-till: Socializing - when showoff time is done those interested can adjourn to the Harry's a couple of stores away from Groove.
