Celebrating Our Fifth Anniversary - Part 2

This is the second October event celebrating 5 years of Westchester Acoustic Guitar Meetups.  I am forgoing my usual on this date comments because our group is making history.  Thanks again to Chris Troise, our founding father, for forming and nurturing our group through those early years.

So with all this as inspiration bring some tabs, 12-15 copies is usually required. You can check our website to see how many RSVPs there are before making the copies. And practice up for our showoff time and remember it's a forgiving group. The agenda for the meetup is:

7:30-9:00 - 1 1/2 hours of our usual selection of songs you think the group would like to play or learn. Try to keep the songs to five chords or less; try to avoid C#dim7's and that ilk.  You can track the number of people coming on our website and bring appropriate number of copies.

9:00-9:30ish - Showoff time - got a song you or others in the group have been practicing together and think you are ready for prime time, here's your chance.

9.30pm-till: Socializing - when showoff time is done those interested can adjourn to the Harry's a couple of stores away from Groove.

Guy and the rest of y'all...I'm sorry to bow out but work is going to keep me from attending tonight. It's been a few months since I've been able to hang out with you folks, but hopefully I can drop back in next month. Congrats to everyone for keeping this thing alive for five years. See ya soon.

Sorry you can't make it. If you've changed your RSVP to No, that will open up a slot for someone else. Look forward to seeing you in the future.

I missed our last meeting, but the time before that we worked a couple of times through a few songs. One of those songs was "Let It Rain" by Eric Clapton.

Does anyone has a particular song she intends to do so we (and especially me and my bass) can toy with it beforehand?

    FYI - Interesting YouTube post:
"Martin Acoustic Guitar workshop at Sweetwater Sound"
Sponsored and conducted by Sweetwater Music a little over 2 weeks ago. Quite long, but you can skip thru it if you like or watch in small segments. I don't own a Martin, but like most guitarist, hold the brand in high regard. Some good history about the industry and the company. My fav part concerned the "Steve Jobs" model, a guitar that Martin was quietly building for Jobs, but was not completed until after his death.

enjoy - see you on the 18th

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
