Change of plans for me, I hurt my ankle after all the walkin I did so I will be staying home today :(

    October 14, 2012

  • Herbie

I'll be there tomorrow. Not sure about time yet

    October 14, 2012

  • Michael

Oh yeah, and I'm going tomorrow as well, so let me know if you'll be down there and maybe we can actually get together this time!

    October 13, 2012

  • Michael

Hey all, sorry there was no real get together at the site. As you probably well know, cell service there sucked. Hope everyone had a great time! I personally got a kick out of having people take pictures of me in my Bolin costume! And actually getting into the Firefly panel when all hope seemed lost.

    October 13, 2012

  • Herbie

    Oh boo

    October 13, 2012

  • David H.

Ign theater its full, but you can still etcwatch the panels from the room with the line

    October 13, 2012

  • Steve R.

Sorry I'm missing out, too much Batman related work to do :(

    October 13, 2012

  • Isabelle A.

I am waiting in line for Stan Lee panel. Look for me I have big black wings and a tan trench coat.

    October 13, 2012

  • Herbie

I'll be going to the firefly panel myself

    October 13, 2012

  • David H.

Is anyone going to the evil dead panel?

    October 13, 2012

  • David H.

In artists alley right now, in a leather jacket and a mario hat.

    October 13, 2012

  • Herbie

Just got here myself. Nothing stands out to describe me lol. Gray jacket and a black backpack on haha

    October 13, 2012

  • Paul

Me and a friend are planning to get there at 1:30 pm.
I was looking on the map on the showroom floor level. There is a SEGA labeled area in the front section near the show store. I don't know if there is a large enough area for us to meet since I haven't been there. I'll go to that area when we get there at 1:30 pm. I will be wearing a punsiher logo shirt and NASA cap for easier Identification.

    October 13, 2012

  • Marissa

Yeah I am mostly gonna wander around. If anyone wants to join me let me know but i have no strict schedule one way or another

    October 13, 2012

  • Herbie

I didn't see any good spots to meet yesterday and the cell signal inside is not that great either. Let me know where everyone ends up gathering

    October 13, 2012

  • Jordana M.

Maybe we should pick a time Ian's place in the middle of the day to all meet up like at the Ren Fest. any suggestions on a good spot or time.

    October 12, 2012

    • David H.

Good idea, not sure about the time until I look at the panel schedule, but there should be room at the entrance to Artist's Alley.

      October 13, 2012

  • Ali

I probably won't be up to ComicCon tomorrow. My leg/hip is being a little b!tch. But have fun, everyone!!!

    October 12, 2012

  • Herbie

What time is everyone getting there tomorrow? I will also be there today around 4:30 of anyone else is going today. Looking forward to meeting everyone :)

    October 12, 2012

    • Kaz M.

I'm on my way in right now.

      October 12, 2012

    • Annie

I'll be leaving in about 10 minutes. Hopefully I'll see people!

      October 12, 2012

  • Michael

Hey all, it's not looking like I'll be able to take off work Friday, so I'm not going to be coming down then. If things change (or I get to leave work early!) I'll give some calls to see where you are all at. (Damn, I really wanted to see Terry Pratchet...)

    October 11, 2012

  • Meron P.

Just joined; looks like fun. I've got a 3-day ticket and will definitely be there on Saturday. I'll try to meet up with you guys if I can find you!

    October 10, 2012

  • David H.

I put off getting a ticket too long and ended up having to get a 4day from Midtown Comics. Is anyone going on Thursday?

    October 5, 2012

  • Steve R.

Sat. night I have a post bash to attend thrown by Nerdist for TBU. So I should be in business casual or in a decent office attire. So with my press lanyard and glasses, I can say I'm cosplaying as Clark Kent!

    1 · October 5, 2012

  • Herbie

Hey all, I just found and joined this meetup. Been looking to find people to go to comic con with!

    October 4, 2012

  • Steve R.

Anyone willing to help me out with TheBatmanUniverse.net could get a decent, affordable (think Applebee's or a pub that serves food) meal offsite (cause the Con food and beet...ehhhh...not the best)! PM me if interested.

    October 4, 2012

  • Marissa

So do we have a meeting place/time? I think it's going to be pretty crowded so we should probably pick a place. Also, are people driving or taking the train? Anyone want to meet in White Plains ahead of time and go into the city together?

    October 1, 2012

    • Jordana M.

yes Ali, also I decided I need to be there for the Once More with Feeling screening which is at 11:15.

      October 4, 2012

    • Michael

I'm all for getting there early! I think that there was a panel I wanted to go to in the morning as well. We'll need to get everyone's numbers together so we can find each other if we split...

      October 4, 2012

  • Ali

Woohoo! My pass arrived! Green entrance.

    September 30, 2012

  • Steve R.

I'm officially a registered press attendee! Anyone willing to give me a hand covering Batman related panels and screenings and such for TheBatmanUniverse.net, send me a PM.

    September 25, 2012

  • Michael

So, who is cosplaying? People have mentioned it, but I haven't heard any definitives. As it is getting really close to go time, I need to decide on a costume now (I'm thinking Bolin from Legend of Korra, because I can't think of anything else right now and I love the character!) but, if no one else is going to do this, I won't rush myself into making it. Also, if this is happening does anyone have a sewing machine I can borrow? My Mom's is all the way in Cleveland...

    September 17, 2012

    • Michael

I've hooked a machine, thanks to Annie. Sorry you can't come! Thanks for the offer.

      September 23, 2012

    • Dina

Let me know if you still need a face painter!

      September 24, 2012

  • Josh S

I'm going with a few friends of mine. I'm cosplaying as Link but I don't think they will be dressing up. At some point maybe I can meet with the group but probably not for the whole time.

    September 24, 2012

  • Michael

Hey all! Panel listing's up, and all I can say is WIN!

    September 18, 2012

  • Taran H.

I'm late on the boat. I suppose I should get a one-day pass? Which day would you guys suggest, given the three or four hours it might take to get through the line?

    September 16, 2012

    • Kaz M.

It might not be at that point just yet. Check local comic book shops or trade stores. Some of them tend to have a few tickets that you can buy from them directly. But if you are only going 1 day, make it Saturday.

      September 16, 2012

    • Michael

There was a list on the NYCC site for retail stores that sell tickets. They might have some left.

      September 18, 2012

  • Marissa

I just bought a Saturday ticket (today actually). They even warn to order online because it's likely they'll be sold out on the day of. But you gotta print out the receipt and bring it to the "Pick up" window to get your ticket.

    September 16, 2012

  • Michael

Hey all, don't forget: if you haven't gotten your tickets yet, I'd order them now. Friday is the last day for them to mail you the tix, which will save a ton of time getting them at the door on the day of.

    September 14, 2012

  • Steve R.

Put in the application for a press pass. Much more involved process this year. Hey if anyone wants to give me a hand covering all things Batman, shoot me a PM.

    September 13, 2012

  • Michael

Just got my tickets now! I got a 3 day pass as well, so we can party on Sunday too. And maybe Friday night, if I feel crazy.

    September 5, 2012

    • Michael

I wonder if work will give me professional leave if there is a panel I can go to on Friday along the lines of "Gaming and how it makes cities better."

      September 5, 2012

  • Jordana M.

So I just bought my tickets!!! I don't know why but I bought a 3 day pass.

    September 1, 2012

  • Jordana M.

I think it will be easier if everyone just buys their own tickets. I picked Saturday just cause it was in the middle and it gave people option to go Sunday to if Saturday was not enough. If you guys want a different day that is fine I can change it.

    August 27, 2012

    • Jordana M.

      It is only $15 more.

      August 28, 2012

    • Michael

That's why I think I'm just going to go for it...

      August 28, 2012

  • Michael

    <ahem>

Anyway, for those of you who haven't been, part of the exhibition hall is basically filled with rows and rows of vendors selling comics, toys, clothing, and all the little geeky things your heart could want. Another part has the videogame booths with flashy screens and demos available. A third part has the Artist's Alley, which isn't as flashy as the main floor but is really cool because you get to walk around an meet artists and see their work and buy some if your so inclined.

The rest of the Javit's center is the rooms with the panels and discussions and theaters for screenings. There is also a larger room at the top that was used for LARPing.

This was like 2 or 3 years ago when I went last. They only used half of the Javits center when I was there, and supposedly now they use the whole thing, so I can only imagine how crazy it is.

    August 28, 2012

  • Michael

Here's the list I found of the exhibitors. You might have to sign into their "plan your day" thing, but whatever...

(I don't understand what designer thought it was a good idea to do white text on white... DIE DIE DIE!!!!)

    August 28, 2012

  • Isabelle A.

I bought my ticket! Saturday it is.

    August 28, 2012

  • Isabelle A.

Let's just buy the tickets before they are sold out. Is there a reason Saturday is most expensive? What guest is only coming Saturday that causes the price inflation? Either way...we should pick a day and get this shit set up.

    August 27, 2012

    • Michael

Sorry, that's the show floor. There are some panels, screenings, and the Artist's Alley is open later on Fri and Sat, but everything closes down Sunday at 5.

      August 28, 2012

    • Kaz M.

The biggest panels/events are on Saturday. For example last year in the IGN Theater was The Avengers on Saturday and that was the only day to see some of those actors/actresses. The year before had The Walking Dead.

      August 28, 2012

  • Michael

Are we going to try for group tickets?
Also, you can get them mailed to you so you don't have to stand in line at the door, but we have to get them before Sept. 7th.

    August 27, 2012

    • Isabelle A.

Unless we can all meet and pay one person before the 7th, I think group tickets are ill-advised. It leaves one person to track down people for pay-backs, other people realizing they have shit to do and backing out at the last minute, etc. Sounds like a headache and they don't even say how much of discount you get...

      August 27, 2012

  • Jordana M.

I set the meetup for Saturday. I will be driving in if we carpool and pay for parking it will be cheaper then taking in the train. Let me know if you want a ride.

    August 27, 2012

    • Ali

Oh yeah - should we buy tickets now?

      August 27, 2012

    • Jordana M.

That's the company my corset came from. i have no clue what to wear yet ether. we'll figure it out.

      August 27, 2012

  • Jordana M.

It sounds like the weekend works best for everyone. I have never been before other then who will be there is there any day that is better to go?

    August 23, 2012

    • Michael

I'm keeping my eye out to see who is going to be here, but I'm most likely going to get weekend passes (Barring any wedding...). Saturday is more expensive than the other days, but generally has the biggest people from what I understand.

      August 23, 2012

  • Kaz M.

Definitely get the tickets ahead of time. Last year some days sold out.

    August 21, 2012

  • Michael

I may have a wedding to go to that weekend, but I'm hoping to be able to come to the Con! When I went a few years ago, I waited too long and had to find a ticket on Craigslist, so I'd get them sooner rather than later.
