Join us for a very strenuous hike in Storm King State Park, a rugged series of mountain peaks on the west bank of the Hudson River just north of West Point. We will begin from the riverside main parking lot on Rte 218 Rte 9W and hike up and over several peaks and along a long steep section that overlooks the Hudson. You must have proper equipment to participate in this outing.
Difficulty: Very strenuous. Several long very steep rock scrambles.
Distance: 11 miles
Estimated Time: 6 to 7 hours
Trail Map: NY/NJ TC #113. You must have this trail map in order to participate. Trail maps can be procured from REI, EMS or the NY/NJ TC website: http://www.nynjtc.org/product/west-hudson-trails

Equipment: Sturdy hiking shoes. Water -- at least two liters. Hiking poles recommended. Headlamp or flashlight. Trail map. Fully charged cell phone. Microspikes
Dog policy: Dogs are welcome on this hike, but must be kept on leash and under control at all times.
Carpooling: Parking is limited at the trailhead. Please seek out carpooling opportunities.
Guests: No guests for this hike. All hikers must be members of WHMG.
