CT Appalachian Trail hike: Schaghticoke Rd to Kent

Join us for a very strenuous there-and-back-again hike between Bull's Bridge and Kent, CT via the Appalachian Trail. Beautiful views of the Housatonic River valley enroute. Rocky trails and several very long sustained hill climbs each way. We'll plan to eat lunch in Kent at the halfway point.

Difficulty: Very strenuous. Several sustained hill climbs. Some road walking in Kent.

Distance: 15 miles

Estimated Time: 7-8 hours

Weather: Rain cancels.

Equipment: Sturdy hiking shoes. Water -- at least two liters. Hiking poles if needed. Headlamp or flashlight and microspikes are mandatory. Trail map. Fully charged cell phone. Plan to dress in layers, and avoid cotton.

Dog policy: Dogs are welcome on this hike, but must be kept on leash and under control at all times.

Guests: No guests for this hike. All hikers must be members of WHMG and all must sign up individually for the hike.
