Join us for a strenuous there-and-back hike along the Appalachian Trail to and around Nuclear Lake. We will start at the junction of Rte 22 and the Appalachian Trail in Pawling, head west on the AT through the wetlands, over Cat Rocks and down and around Nuclear Lake, and then return via the AT. Hopefully the autumn colors will be in full bloom -- we will pass through several old-growth deciduous forests enroute. Rocky trails, beautiful scenic vistas and several long, sustained hill climbs along the way. Plan to meet in front of the Native Landscapes garden center on the west side of Rte 22, just north of the AT junction.
Difficulty: Strenuous. Several long sustained hill climbs along rocky terrain. You must have hiked with me on a strenuous-rated hike in the last twelve months to participate.
