History:

The United Nuclear Corporation had a site near Nuclear Lake for nuclear-fuel testing and research.

1972 -- two non-nuclear explosions release plutonium dust in the area and the corporation forced to close.

The National Park Service has all the buildings removed and the area restored. The area is now free of contamination.

A perfect day, with lovely people, lots of exercise and led by our fantastic Steve! It just doesn't get any better than this. Too bad King Kone doesn't have an outpost in Patterson any more!

The latest we will be done is at 4pm. If you have plans that require the hike to be done earlier than it would not be a good Idea to be on the hike. I like to enjoy hiking and not see how fast we can do it
