Let's spend the day with our human and non-human friends at Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary (WFAS)!
Founded in 2004 (10 years already?!?!) by couple Jenny Brown & Doug Abel, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary is a wonderful place, a shelter, that takes in or helps to place farm animals who have escaped some of the most horrible conditions that humans would never dare to imagine. It gives them, and the humans around them, hope towards putting an end to animal cruelty through love, care and compassion.
Carlo & I first visited WFAS back in 2011 and were amazed by the experience. We have been there a couple of times since, even for their annual Thanksliving event to celebrate the turkeys and all other animals! We're always humbled by the resilience of the animals and the staff!
We're meeting at 11:00am at WFAS at the Visitor's Center! After our tour, we'll head to Minnewaska State Park for a picnic (bring a packed lunch). We'll end the day with a short ride to New Paltz to visit Lagusta's Luscious (vegan chocolate, y'all!)
Minnewaska State Park Admission
$8 per vehicle
If you're willing to carpool or need a ride, please post in the comments!
If you're unable to make it for the group meet-up, but still plan to visit, please note that operating hours are Saturday & Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm
Tours are offered at 3 times during the day:
Later this year, I hope to coordinate a volunteer day for our group. So, if you don't make this event, there will be another chance to go with the group!
